If your ceiling fan remote control is not working, what should you do? This page has step by step answers. Designer's Choice Ceiling Fans; Ellington Ceiling Fans. Oct 06, 2013  how do you work the remote for designer's choice. I have a Designer's Choice remote ceiling fan. Designer choice ceiling fan manual I am.

If the pull chain for your ceiling fan won't pull, you will need to remove the housing for the switch. After unscrewing and removing this portion of the fan, you should be able to see the switch and the pull chain in their entirety. If the chain is broken or out of place, you can unscrew its casing and remove it from the switch assembly.

Hope this helps!

Now neither the remote or manual features to light or fan work. I no longer have the box or manual to troubleshoot, or contact the manufacturer.

This is the number: 855-434-2678 Monday-Friday, 8am- 7pm, Eastern Time Saturday, 9am- 6pm, Eastern Time You will need your product number when you talk with a Customer Service Representative. That is the number on the silver sticker on the top of the fan motor housing. Bottom line: To me, Hampton Bay seems to have the MOST UN-HELPFUL process for obtaining an owner's manual. Jan 04, 2018 . Floor model of a ceiling fan.

• How to program a universal ceiling fan remote (or other) with a TV? How do I figure out my programming codes?

Think about that for a minute! I have to say no, you cannot do this. It may be possible but not without a lot of pain and extra expense. I have installed hundreds of fans. You may possibly be able to shorten the pipe that holds the fan but to actually mount it to the ceiling? You will have to have the ceiling hardware to do this. There goes the price benefit even if you can find the proper adapter/ceiling hardware.

Example 689.xxxxx. If your unit does not have dip switches like some of the units do, it must have a learn button on the receiver and then push the buttons on the remote to program. I am sorry I could not find information for you but it you can verify the model number I will do my best to find the information you are looking for.

I finally gave up and ordered another control. Not as nice as the Kenmore, and it isn't here yet, so I was hoping your solution would do it. Nice try, and I appreciate it. But I guess I'll just have to go ahead and replace the control.

Then on the web page for the manuals you have to click on the Facebook Like for Hampton Bay. * Tweet (if you are registered with Twitter) about Hampton Bay * Use Google Plus to follow Hampton Bay ceiling fans AGGGGGHHHH! Ultimately the list of 78 ceiling fan manuals which can be chosen from for downloading do not have your model number. Most of the manuals listed have the model name of each fan. The manual for your fan may be in that list, but I am not going to click on each link to try to find the right manual, if it is even in that list.

I did not find online information for the ceiling fan that you are describing. You can try taking the batteries back out of the remote and then shutting off the breaker to the ceiling fan to completely disconnect electrical power. Leave the power off for 5 minutes and the reset the breaker to restore power. According to your details, the fan likely has an electronic control board since it does not have programming switches. Completely shutting off the electrical power may reboot the electronic control board so that it operates properly. Put the batteries back into the remote and see if it works. If not, then you apparently have a problem with the remote or the control board in the fan.

All functions both manual and remote for fan and light were working marvelously prior to that. Now neither the remote or manual features to light or fan work. I no longer have the box or manual to troubleshoot, or contact the manufacturer. I truly love the fan!

A few adjustments to a dip switch could make difference.

You can then either replace it with a new chain or reset the original if it was not broken. Replace the assemblies you have taken apart and test the chain to verify it is working.

So far we've been able to find some universal remotes which should work with Designer's Choice fans. If these are not helpful we recommend contacting Home Depot and requesting the remote or other part you need from them directly. Some popular Designer's Choice ceiling fan models: • Designer's Choice Moderno 42 Inch Ceiling Fan • Designer's Choice Antron 42 Inch Ceiling Fan • Designer's Choice Cordova 42 Inch Ceiling Fan.

I truly love the fan! I'm wondering if you can tell what the problem may be? There is power to the fan and I replaced the batteries in the remote as well.

Clicking on the ceiling fan remote repeatedly is not the proper way to troubleshoot an operations problem. Fans that shut off or change speeds randomly likely have a settings issue. The fan's dip switch settings must be arranged in the correct order to receive and transmit the functions you select with the remote control. Placing more than one fan in close proximity also affects the fan's performance. Enjoy the cooling effects of your ceiling fan without pulling the cord continuously.

You should hear a series of confirming chirps, and the fan should engage. If this does not work, with power still on, remove a battery from the remote, let the LCD screen clear, then reinsert the battery. Flip power off then quickly back on. You should hear the 'chirp', push the fan button while the 'chirp' is occurring. The instructions say if you have the 'chirp' half the battle is done, repeat the 'If this does not work' step a few times.

Unfortunately, it didn't work either. The control was working fine until I replaced the battery, something I've done many times, so it seems unlikely that it failed while I was replacing it. But it is definitely not working, whatever the cause, and I have no idea how to fix it.

And thanks for the smile. Floor model ceiling fan:-) Mar 13, 2011 .

Designer's Choice Ceiling Fans We know from doing some research that Home Depot carries the line. We have been able to get one or two ceiling fans to review that carry the Designer's Choice name, but that's about it. Often times we find site visitors are looking for remotes or other. We have some information about Designer's Choice ceiling fan remote replacement and other part replacement below. Designer's Choice Ceiling Fan Remotes & Replacements We have searched online for Designer's Choice remotes. We have not come up with any remotes from the manufacturer themselves yet.

Adjusting the dip switches: Each fan/remote combination is set to work on a specific frequency, much like tuning in a specifc radio station. Some fans allow you to set this frequency by means of a set of small switches called 'dip switches'. There is one set located inside the remote, and the other set would be position on the fan, with the remote receiver electronics. This would be either on top of the motor, or inside the switch housing or ceiling canopy. These switches 'tune' the remote and fan (received) to the same 'station' and therefore must be set to the same setting. If a fan is not responding to the remote you can check to make sure that the switches are set to the same setting in both locations, and/or try a different setting. They are also useful if you have two remote fans, you will want to be sure each fan is set different so the remotes do not interfere.

Converting to 3 speed: One common question: My fan's remote is broken, can I just convert it to a 3 speed pullchain like other fans? Again unfortunately, if you have to ask the question, then chances are the answer is no. It can be done but there are no universal directions, it varies drastically from fan motor to fan motor, and requires a fair amount of technical and electronic skill. A few exceptions: If the fan has a 'remote bypass' switch you can select it and then use a wall control (or pullchain if there is one attached to the fan). Add-on remote kits Some fan remote systems are not built into the fan, they were an option added by the installer at an additional cost. Usually they consist of a remote receiver wired to the fan inside the ceiling canopy, and the fan will still have a pullchain that is not used. If this is the case then the receiver can be removed and replaced with another remote/receiver kit, or the fan can be operated as standard with the 3 speed pullchain.

It might be worth checking. Feb 24, 2011 . SEARCHING FOR YOUR CODE=irc 551 If your home entertainment device does not respond to the Star Choice IRC 551 IR and Star Choice URC 551 IR/ UHF Remote Controls after trying all of the codes listed for your brand, or if your brand is not listed at all, try searching for your code. For example, to search for a code for your TV: 1. Turn on your TV. To search for the codes of your other devices, repeat steps 1 through 5, but substitute the appropriate key (e.g., AUX, DVD, AUD, or SAT) for the device you are searching for. Jan 29, 2011 .

I don't know, what? Try a universal remote Now, in a little more depth, are some common solutions to remote problems.

Hi, mmggoodies. I apologize but I would not personally be able to advise regarding your technical support questions, but our experts should be able to post below to assist with that part of your question.:) However, I have looked up the Designer's Choice brand, and the manufacturer lookes to be a company called Kendal Lighting. Here is the contact info for them & they should be able to provide you a manual upon request. Thank you and good luck!- Nicki.

Try shortening the pipe that suspends. You may find joy there. Thanks for your question today.

Remote Control Ceiling Fans Get the latest in comfort and convenience with our remote control fans. Perfect for outdoor lounge spaces, large rooms, and high ceilings, the hand-held remote feature comes in handy when you need it most: on those extra warm days when turning up the fan from the chair beats standing up to do so.

I'm wondering if you can tell what the problem may be? There is power to the fan and I replaced the batteries in the remote as well. I'm also wondering who I contact regarding a replacement manual for troubleshooting? Who makes the Designers Choice Ceiling fans?

How to Troubleshoot Ceiling Fan Remote Controls A luxurious feature offered on many modern ceiling fans is the wireless remote control. This feature offers full operation of the fan (and any light attachment) from any location within a reasonable distance. This can be especially useful in bedrooms, home theatres, and any other location it is beneficial to adjust the fan and lights without having to get up and operate a wall switch or pullcord.Unfortunately, remote controls also account for a fair number of problems with ceiling fans. Worse, solutions to these problems are usually not easily accessible. First, here is a list of answers to the most commonly asked questions about ceiling fan remote problems:1. Change the battery 2. Contact the manufacturer 3.

Lastly, if some other wireless device is interfering with the fan (causing it to turn on and off seemingly at random) such as a garage door opener or cordless phone, you can try a different setting on the dip switches. Universal remotes: If your fan remote is lost or broken, many suppliers, including this web site, offer a universal remote designed to work with the majority of different remote operated ceiling fans. Many are also universal for operating televions etc so you can control all your leisure and comfort devices from one unit. Replacement parts: Unfortunately, outside of Universal remotes, general replacement parts are not available for remote control systems. Your best bet is to contact the manufacturer. Repair: Also unfortunately, most problems with remote controls cannot be repaired outside of what is suggested above.

Hello, Desiree - Clarification: You are seeking an owner's manual for a Hampton Bay ceiling fan? My ceiling fan remote stopped working when I changed the batteries. Apparently it needs to be reset. How do I do it?

How to Troubleshoot Ceiling Fan Remote Controls Frequently Asked Questions (Faqs) • My ceiling fan has six speeds, and I have lost my remote. I need to purchase another one and am having trouble finding one. Where can I find a universal 6 speed ceiling fan remote?

I have a Designer's Choice Ceiling Fan Model # 95826 that stopped working after the breaker was turned off to work on a different light on the same circuit (nurse not electrician, obviously). All functions both manual and remote for fan and light were working marvelously prior to that.

I'm also wondering who I contact regarding a replacement manual for troubleshooting? Who makes the Designers Choice Ceiling fans? I have a Designer's Choice Ceiling Fan Model # 95826 that stopped working after the breaker was turned off to work on a different light on the same circuit (nurse not electrician, obviously).

A new remote or new Grandson? For the remote you can try Lowes or Home Depot. They have a small display of handheld remotes for ceiling fans and remotes for overhead lights. I looked up the brand and Crosswinds is carried by Lowes. I hope my solution is very helpful and that the remote will be reasonable priced.

If you have problems, contact the manufacturer, perhaps the fan is under warranty, or parts are available. Otherwise chances are the fan will stay broken.

Thank you for your question. I can understand wanting to use the remote for controlling the ceiling fan. Thank you for including as much information as you have. The model number you gave did not come up in our information system. The Sears Kenmore model numbers will usually have three digits and a dot and then the rest of the model number.

I did not find information on a reset procedure for this type of fan. Thanks for the advice. It was a plausible solution that I hadn't tried.

The fan is a Designer's Choice, Sears stock number 99046. Labels above the fan motor are 'ceiling fan 897F' and 'model AC-652 (CS52-5LKS)' and 'E75795'. The remote itself is a Kenmore unit, identified (on the card it came on) as (presumably stock number) 999500 (or 99500; the initial 9 is smaller than the rest of the number). The UPC code on the card (for the remote) is 04. The only identification on the remote itself is 'FCC ID M8C204001'. There are no programming switches in the remote (nor, apparently, in the receiver; I didn't take it apart). The label on the remote receiver (in the fan) says 'Model 00001'.

I finally found the Hampton Bay (ceiling fan) company Customer Service number. I suggest you call that number and ask a Customer Service Representative how you can obtain the proper manual for your fan.

Put batteries in remote, apply power to fan, you should hear a 'chirp' from receiver. Aim the remote at the fan and push the 'FAN' button. This must be done simultaneously with the 'chirp' occurring.

Thank you for using Manage My Life. I have one of these fans as well. I also still have the instructions that came with it. There are no 'DIP' switches on these fans. The fan must be installed, with the chain switch set to High and the light on.

If you had an idea to add a fan to another room you could get the second fan and try its remote on the old fan. That way you would not be spending extra dollars for just a remote. My mom was constantly losing TV remotes. Have your Grandson look under sofas and recliners as they tend to swallow remotes. If you have a cat, check your shoe closet because cats will place objects in their owners shoes. If you have a dog, it may have swallowed the remote.
